He wasn't wearing his normal priestly clothes. Instead he was wearing blue jeans and a black tank top type shirt. His sutra was worn under his clothing, so nobody would see it and so it would be on his person.
The priest wasn't going to risk bringing a crowd to him because he was in his priestly gear. That was one of the reasons why he was avoiding people. The other was because it would be a nuisance for everyone to know he was wearing normal clothing when he was supposed to wear his priestly garb at all times. Sanzo didn't give a damn what anyone else thought, but those annoying monks at the temple would give him so much shit that it wasn't even worth dealing with them. Simply avoiding everyone while he bought cigarettes seemed like a good idea to him.
Goku was left back at the temple. Probably pulling pranks on the monks there. Even though Sanzo scolded him for it he secretly found it hilarious when the shit head monks got all annoyed because of the stupid monkey.
The man turned a corner and to his pleasing surprise he found a convenience store. He sweat dropped when he looked at the name though. Hozon Suru? That basically meant store in chinese. The owner wasn't very creative.
He entered the store and didn't even glance at the register till he grabbed two packs of marbolo reds. When he got to the counter he glanced up at the woman. She didn't look chinese. Was she a foreigner?
He set the two packs on the counter and pulled out his gold charge card. "Creative name," he muttered. He couldn't help not being sarcastic. [style=border-top:5px solid #151513; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align:justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;]Today was just like any other boring day. Sayuri woke up sprawled hap hazardously across her bed in the apartment above her store, her body inches away from rolling off to the hard wood floor in her sleep. She really hated mornings. After several reluctant minutes of staring at the ceiling, she hauled her ass out of bed and began getting ready for the day, the rays of the rising sun peeking through her windows.
After a quick, freezing shower and a cup of way too hot tea, Sayuri found herself dressed and barely ready to open her store. Clad in her usual boots, jean shorts and a navy blue button-up shirt with the sleeve rolled to her elbows, she sure as Hell didn’t look like the usual Chinese chick one would see wondering around this area but no one seemed to bother her about that.
She went about the store as usual, moving the curtains aside to let the light in, unlocking the door, flipping the sign to say “Open” before she trudges behind the counter, plopping herself on her stool, news paper already on the counter waiting for her and another cup of tea cooling. Time passed rather slowly, a few customers her and there, most she knew. They were nice people who she would carefully exchange pleasantries with. But none she’d go so far as to call friends. No, Arashi had barely any friends, that she would claim at least. And she liked it that way.
Sitting behind the register, legs crossed, news paper in hand and a cigarette between her lips, Sayuri barely glared up when the door of her shop opened, the bell ringing to announce the customer. Some blond haired guy she didn’t know. Her eyes drifted back to the fine print, removing the cancer stick from her lips to flick the ash in a near by tray. She only looking up again when the man was standing across the counter from her. Setting the paper down, she rang up his purchase, pausing when he spoke.
Creative name? “Excuse me?” she asked, her voice strong but rather toneless at this point, quirking her brow at him. At first, she didn’t exactly get what he said. She wasn’t wearing a name tag…[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: sanzo words: --- notes: wee~! credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] |

"Your shop name," he stated a bit slowly. A glint of humor in his eyes. He was sure she'd get it in a moment. She didn't look very stupid. He would have assumed she was if she read the comedy section of the newspaper. But from where he stood it looked as if she was reading articles about politics. He could have been wrong but Sanzo never doubted himself.
His hand twitched slightly as he watched her smoke her own cigarette. It was tempting to just light one right here and now. As he debated with himself the smoke of her own cigarette finally pushed him over the edge. He quickly took a white stick from one of his packs and lit it up. He took in a deep breath and finally let it out, blowing the smoke away from the woman.
"Why'd you name a shop something so simple?" he asked in vague curiosity. Usually he wasn't much of a talker but he didn't have anything better to do than to talk about something that was quite funny, in his opinion. What would he do if he left early? Go back to the temple and deal with the annoying monks who begged for blessings and prayers? Standing here and smoking a cigarette without anyone whispering or chastising him seemed fine by him. [style=border-top:5px solid #151513; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align:justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;]Wide eyes blinked slightly before rolling slightly when the blond spoke again. Was her really nit-picking the name of her shop. Yes, she’d caught his sarcasm before but now he actually knew what the Hell her was talking about. Cigarette back between her lips, she ran his card, making sure it cleared before sliding it back across the counter towards him. ”What about it?” she questioned, one arm crossing over her chest while the other reached for her cigarette once more, exhaling the ashy grey cloud of smoke, letting it drift and dissipate in the air as the male across from her did the same, already lit up before he’d actually paid.
Now, usually, she would have snapped at him for that but she was feeling semi-nice today so she let it slid, settling for actually getting a good look at the man. He was tall, taller than her. His blond hair was slightly shaggy, long around the neck and his eyes were an odd but beautiful shade of violet, not the color she’d usually expect to see. The red dot on his forehead reminded her of something but she couldn’t place it. It was a chakrim or chakram or something like that/ didn’t monks have those? He didn’t look like a monk. He had hair.
So, he wanted to know why? Oh boy, this guy just set himself up. Flicking the ash in the tray before slid it to the center of the counter where they could both reach it. She didn’t need ash all over her floors. ”If you must know, I like simple things, to begin with. And, no one would every forget it’s name, seeing as it is so simple. This store may not have a flashy name, but people wont forget it easily,” she stated simply, though her tone made her sound a little rude, not that she gave a crap. She glanced back at his face, a little smirk on her lips. ”Not that it’s anyone’s business.”[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: sanzo words: --- notes: wee~! credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] |

Smirks were rare but not as rare as a smile. Finally understanding had floated across her face and her eyes rolled at his sarcasm. She finally got it huh? If he'd said something like that to Gojyo or Goku they'd start being loud and obnoxious. This girl acted a bit like Hakkai.
Sanzo almost groaned when he thought of those idiots. He supposed he was starting to miss Gojyo and Hakkai. It had been a month since he'd last seen them. The monks had kept him busy and he'd been doing a lot of paperwork. He wished he'd also had an errand boy that was more reliable than Goku.
Lately Goku had been going to town to find something to do. Sanzo just didn't have that much time for anyone lately. He'd guessed that the monkey had made some friends or found some way of getting good food because he bugged Sanzo less than usual.
Seeing her move the ashtray towards him he flicked some of his own ash into it. He really didn't feel like being a complete dick today by throwing ash onto her floors. Which normally he would do if there were no ashtrays in sight, or if someone just pissed him off.
”If you must know, I like simple things, to begin with. And, no one would every forget it’s name, seeing as it is so simple. This store may not have a flashy name, but people wont forget it easily,”
He watched as she smirked and she continued on. ”not that it’s anyone’s business.” Okay so she had attitude but not in a really annoying way. She had a clever enough retort when she explained and she wasn't too nice about it either. It kind of annoyed him when people had no backbone.
It was time for Sanzo to bring his cards to the table and see how much she could entertain him. "It may not be anyone's business but there are still sarcastic people who will enter your store asking why you have such a ridiculous name for a store."
He may have been giving her crap but he did like the way she thought. If Sanzo had ever opened a store he'd probably do the same and make it something simple. He was a fan of simple things anyway. He liked reading the paper with a cup of tea and enjoying the quiet. He wasn't the type to like doing things in a flashy or exciting way. Like he'd been told before by Gojyo, he was like an old man. He liked the simple things in life, they made him... not necessarily happy but content.
The blonde man was an observant guy. He'd picked out a few things from just the few sentences she'd spoken. She was simple, liked her privacy, had a backbone, and was rather calm even if she had an attitude. Most people wouldn't pick that much up that quickly, but Sanzo had to learn how to read people or he'd have been dead long before now. [style=border-top:5px solid #151513; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align:justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;]The blond had a little smirk of his own, which only made Sayuri’s previous eye rolling far more animated. She usually wasn;t the type of girl to indulge in conversation with stranger much but it looked like it was special day. There was just something about this guy that interested her for some reason and they had barely been in each other’s company three minutes. Weird. Maybe her anti-social tendencies were giving way to a humans natural need to socialize? Dear Gods she hoped not. That would be the day Hell froze over and she wore a bright ass pink dress and went picking flowers in some magic meadow somewhere. Fuck that.
Snuffing the used cigarette out once it was down to the filter, Sayuri glanced around her store for a moment. They were still the only ones there. No one had come it yet but she had observed the habits of her customers well enough to know that, before the day was over, she’d bring in a decent amount of money. Focusing back on the stranger, hearing him out. She contemplated whether to humor him or tell him off. ”People like you, so far?’ she questioned, pinning him with his own statement. He was the one who had asked first after all.
Shaking her head slightly, she crossed her arms on the counter top, leaning slightly on them, legs uncrossing, heels braced on the legs of the stool to keep herself from tipping over. ”If more of those kind of people came in here, they’d get one of two types of answer from me, depending on my mood. The first being the nicer one you got. The second… Well, let just say I have a way with words.” Her smirked widened, just for a moment before she turned her head away, peering out the window towards the streets.
”Places, people, things… Apparently, they’re all supposed to have names with meanings,” she spoke rather absently, shrugging her narrow shoulders. ”No one said they had to be deep meanings. Take mine for instance, Sayuri. It either means little lily or ‘itself’. Pathetically unpoetic.” She looked back at the blond, wondering whether or not he would have been really listening to her. Hell, he’d probably just be sarcastic again, not that she minded. She rarely ever spoke this much. It was… strange.[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: sanzo words: --- notes: wee~! credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] |

That caught her by surprise. Most people would tune her out, even though she rarely spoke more than a few words at a time. Sayuri could be a very opinionated when she wanted to be, considering she wasn’t the kind of girl to hold anything back when the time called for it. Reaching up, she ran her slender fingers through her thick brown locks, pushing them away from her face as he responded to her little mini rant. Flow of the river? She wondered vaguely what it was. Or, rather, what it had been.
”Simples better than stupid, right?” she questioned, titling her head slightly, bangs sweeping across her forehand at the sudden action, jade eyes holding some distant amount of curiosity for the man before her. Despite her attitude and both their sarcastic remarks, they were continuing on with semi-normal conversation. ”If that’s your old name, what’s your new name?” Did people change their names a lot around here or something? She wondered if it was some kind of tradition: Name the child one thing then switch it to another. It wasn;t the first time someone had mention old and new names to her.
She smiled. It was vague, and it was small and she quickly covered it by propping her chin on her knuckles, quirking her brow to turn her expression from slightly happy to almost teasing and amused. ”Heh, for what is worth, so am I. You’re not a total jackass that I had thought you were. Shows you what I get for assuming.” Yes, even Sayuri could admit that she was wrong, even if she was also lightly poking fun at the blond.[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: sanzo words: --- notes: wee~! credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] |

"Genjo Sanzo. Sayuri is a foreign name isn't it?" he asked her with vague curiosity. He had been curious about her heritage since he entered the store. The last foreigner he had met was Hazel and that didn't end well. This girl hopefully wasn't as crazy as he was though.
"You're not as much of a bitch as I thought you'd be either," he replied with an amused grunt. Wow, he sure was talking a lot wasn't he? That was odd for such a man as Sanzo. He was about to continue when a something crashed through the shop. Sanzo turned around quickly unconsciously shielding the woman across the counter from whatever would be coming at them. He pulled his gun from his pocket with lightning speed. The person who had been thrown through the glass of the front window of the shop was a... demon? He had his power limiters off and was picking himself up off the floor. He had a lot of cuts but didn't seem to be in any real danger. Three men from outside were headed towards the demon with devilish grins on their faces. They were fighting three to one? What pieces of shit...
"You fucking demon! We don't want you here!" one of the men shouted.
The demon in turn glared at them. "I can live here if I want. You pieces of shit!" he spat. "I have a family and I have just as much a right to live here as you do! Fucking racists."
There it was again. Another fight between humans and demons. This time it was much harder to pick a side to fight for. There was so much racism for two years. It was hard to prevent it. Both sides could be in the wrong but humans were more closed minded than their demon counterparts. It was getting crazy.[/style] [STYLE= arial narrow; text-align: right; color: f6f6f6; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: -2px; text-transform: lowercase; text-shadow: 0px 0px 2px #a5a5a5; margin-top: -30px; font-style: italic;]I SEE THE LIGHT, ZACHARY LEVI & MANDY MOORE[/style] [STYLE=color: 514854; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; letter-spacing: -1px; text-align: right;]TAG ⋆ whoever. [style=border-top:5px solid #151513; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align:justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;]Genjo Sanzo… She cocked her head slightly in thought. That named sounded familiar. Not in the “I know this guy” kind of way. More like when she would pick up a name in a passing conversation. Of course, if she recognized it, she must have hear it more than once. It had something to do with a priest or something. Hell if she knew the whole deal, se never really went near the temple. Apparently, monks didn’t like women too much. ”It’s Japanese,” she replied, nodding her head. Her mother had been Japanese, while her father hadn’t been Asian at all, hence the lack of a surname. She may not have looked Chinese, but she was half Asian, which allowed her to pass through places without a problem. Ever since the issue with the demons began, the whole world was watching it’s back, mistrusting of any foreigner.
Sayuri couldn’t help but laugh, covering it with a snort and a roll of her eyes, but she couldn’t wipe the little smile from her lips right away. This Sanzo guy wasn’t so bad. ”Thanks.” Over Sanzo’s shoulder, she saw before she heard. The window bent and groaned, as if in slow motion before bursting, a figure rolling through, glass and wood spraying across the floor. The blond before her was quick to whirl around, shielding what was going on from her view. Oh Hell no. Kicking her stool back, Sayuri hauled her skinny ass up on to the counter quickly before he had felt to Sanzo’s shoulder, using him as leverage to drop to the other side, gun in hand. She was no damsel in distress and this was her shop.
”Hey!” she shouted, wanting all four of their attention. Demon or not, three against one was wrong. And, she was pretty sure that demon was one of her usual customers. ”I don’t mean to interrupt your pissing match…” She stepped forward, glass crunching under her boots, shoulders squared and eyes narrowed in an obviously pissed off glare. Sayuri’s revolver may have not been raised, but she was plenty threatening. ”But you’re on MY property, and I wont tolerate this shit. You three!” The young women waved an accusing hand towards the humans. ”Get the fuck out before I loose my cool.”[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: sanzo words: --- notes: wee~! credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] |

Despite thinking she should be careful he couldn't help admire her for being so brave and defending what was hers.
The men all looked a bit surprised when she began to yell at them. Sanzo felt like laughing. What a bunch of idiots. Even worse than his companions. Jesus, people could really be stupid couldn't they? Sanzo decided he would just be backup and leave the talking to her. Besides he looked scarier that way anyway.
His own gun was pulled out and pointed at the men. He growled a small warning before the men decided it would be best not to deal with even more people who may want a fight. Also they had guns and they weren't armed with their own firearms. it would be best to just leave. The demon was left in the glass mess while the men fled.
Sanzo grunted and looked towards the woman. "Jesus, you really are scary when you want to be," he said which was hinted that he was teasing. Despite his words he was proud with how she handled the situation. If those men came back though... he'd be sure to make them pay. The demon on the ground grunted before righting himself and standing up. He began to pull glass shards out of his body. He didn't have many wounds and they weren't deep, so he'd be fine with some bandages.[/style] [STYLE= arial narrow; text-align: right; color: f6f6f6; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: -2px; text-transform: lowercase; text-shadow: 0px 0px 2px #a5a5a5; margin-top: -30px; font-style: italic;]I SEE THE LIGHT, ZACHARY LEVI & MANDY MOORE[/style] [STYLE=color: 514854; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; letter-spacing: -1px; text-align: right;]TAG ⋆ whoever. [style=border-top:5px solid #151513; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align:justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;]Through out the whole thing, Sayuri completely ignored Sanzo, even though she could feel his eyes glaring into the back of her head at one point or another. She held her ground, head up and a look of murder on her previously aloof face. The man glanced from her, to the blond behind her and back before they decided it was best to turn tail and run. Sayuri could have laughed herself. Instead, she scuffed, tucking the gun into the back of her jeans, shoulders still squared and tense as she watched them till they were completely out of sight. Finally, she gaze an exasperated sigh, running a hand down her face. She was still passed. Look at the her hole in her wall!
She glanced over her shoulder as Sanzo spoke, smirking slightly at his words. Oh yeah, she couldn’t be scary alright. ”What can I say? I was pissed. All this racist shit is getting on my nerves and the last thing I needed was it to flop right into MY shop,” she spoke, crossing her arms almost defiantly across her chest. She’d like to see those jackasses come back. She’d blow holes in all of them, or worst. It wasn;t until the injured demon began to rise that Sayuri remember he was there. He was the only one she wasn;t mad at, considering the whole thing wasn’t his fault.
”You alright?” she asked, taking a few steps forward. She was hardly as cautious as she should have been but since everything had calmed down, Sayuri was back to no longer seeing Demons and Humans, just People. She paused at a shelf and grabbed a few white fluffy rolls of bandages, gauze tape and a towel to wipe the blood off. ”Care if I give you a hand?” No, she wasn’t scared.[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: sanzo words: --- notes: wee~! credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] |
